The Morristown Police Department is the primary agency responsible for providing all police services to the Town of Morristown.
Located in the heart of historic Morris County, Morristown is home to a population of over 25,000 residents and swells to over 100,000 people daily as people travel to and from work. The Town of Morristown is contained within 2.8 square miles but includes a regional Level II Trauma Center, one of the busiest airports in New Jersey, a large number of county facilities including the Morris County Courthouse, many corporate offices and a busy downtown business district.
Morristown is also home to a bustling dining and nightlife scene with numerous restaurants, nightclubs and taverns around town.
At this time, the Morristown Police Department has an authorized strength of 60 sworn Police Officers, 4 civilian Communications Officers and 5 civilian employees. From these numbers, the department maintains an active uniformed patrol, investigative services and dispatching facilities for all police, fire and emergency calls.
Lead by Chief Peter Demnitz, the Police Department is divided into the Patrol Divison, commanded by Captain Michael Ubertaccio and the Services Division, headed by Captain John Kruse. |
