Pedestrian Beacon at Morris Street & King Street

• Contractor: Zuccaro Inc.
• Work Description: Installation of curb bump-outs and a traffic signal mast arm with mounted Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons to improve pedestrian safety for the Morris Street crosswalk adjacent to King Street.
• Location: Morris Street in the vicinity of King Street
• Work Hours:
• Daytime: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm on King Street, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Morris Street, Monday through Friday
• Nighttime: 8:00 pm – 6:00 am (limited work to occur at night)
• Project Start: Tuesday 6/30
• Estimated Duration: 1.5 months
• Special Conditions:
• Sidewalk in work area to be closed during work hours.
• Lane shifts on Morris Street will be utilized during work hours.
• There will be one full road closure at night on Morris Street for the installation of the mast arm.
• King Street to be closed at Morris Street during work hours. Residents/businesses may access King Street from Pine Street.
• On-street parking along Morris Street and King Street will be prohibited within the work zone limits during work hours.
• All businesses, homes, and adjacent streets in the area will remain accessible.

Town of Morristown Announces Storm Sewer Mapping Project (posted June 17, 2026)

MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Town of Morristown has contracted with Colliers Engineering & Design to update the municipal storm sewer system map as required by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).

Beginning immediately, Colliers personnel will be conducting field surveys throughout Morristown to locate and map municipally owned stormwater infrastructure, including storm inlets, manholes, and outfalls. The work will utilize GPS technology and conventional measuring equipment.

The project is anticipated to be completed before the end of July 2026. Work hours will generally be Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. No power tools or heavy equipment will be used, and the work is not expected to generate significant noise.

Most of the mapping will take place within public rights-of-way and public parks. However, some municipally owned stormwater structures are located within easements on private property and may require access for documentation purposes.

Colliers personnel will be identifiable by orange or yellow safety vests displaying the company name and will be operating clearly marked company vehicles. Team members will carry company identification and can provide it upon request.

If access to private property is needed, survey personnel will first attempt to contact the property owner or occupant. Property owners do not need to be present for the work to be completed, and no entry into homes, garages, sheds, or other buildings will be required. Any locked or restricted areas will be revisited after contact with the property owner is established.
