The Morristown Finance Department safeguards the Town’s fiscal integrity. Led by the Chief Financial Officer, the department is responsible for the accounting, budgeting and financial control over each of the various Operating, General Capital and Trust funds established by the Town.
Budget preparation and oversight, revenue collection, employee payroll and benefits administration, accounts payable, procurement, investments and debt management are all areas within the Finance Department’s purview.
The Morristown Council takes legislative action to formally introduce and adopt the annual Municipal Budget.
TAX ASSESSORThe Tax Assessor is responsible for Property Assessments, Processing of all Deeds, Reviewing all applications submitted by Seniors, Veterans, Disabled Persons or Surviving Spouses, All petitions of appeals in Morristown, Chapter 91 requests, Initial and Further Statements, Subdivision of land, Added Assessments, All statutory duties. The Tax Collector oversees and administers Tax and Sewer Bills for the Town of Morristown. Payments can be made by mail or in person at our office during regular business hours. Payments must be in our office by the end of the grace period as the State of NJ does not allow the use of postmarks for tax payment acceptance dates. Payments can be made in cash, personal checks or money orders only. Online payments are accepted, along with fees. Click here for Tax Collection page.
