The easily-visited 24 acres of natural area at Foote's Pond Wood include meadows, pond and woodland that support fascinating and diverse plant and wildlife communities including plants, mushrooms, turtles, frogs, birds and insects. An accessible 0.7 mile circuit trail crosses three brooks and passes the dock. There are bike racks at the entrance and benches along the trail for lingering.  Protecting and restoring the native wildflowers, grasses, shrubs and trees and removing invasive plants is an ongoing effort by the community volunteers from the Friend's of Foote's Pond Wood. (www.fofpw.org), supervised by the Morristown Shade Tree Commission. Everyone is welcome.
