Notice for property owners

 

Currently inspections are underway for work completed on properties after October 1, 2023. As part of our annual added inspection campaign appraisal systems, inc representatives will be visiting properties that were subject to recent improvements in order to update our records accordingly. the inspectors will always have a photo id as well as a letter of authorization. please do not allow any inspector access to your property without a photo id from appraisal systems, inc.

The Tax Assessor is responsible for Property Assessments, Processing of all Deeds, Reviewing all applications submitted by Seniors, Veterans, Disabled Persons or Surviving Spouses, All petitions of appeals in Morristown, Chapter 91 requests, Initial and Further Statements, Subdivision of land, Added Assessments, All statutory duties.

The Town of Morristown had a town wide reassessment in 2004. 

New Owners - property ownership cannot be changed until a recorded deed is received from the Morris County Clerk by the Tax Assessor. Usually takes four weeks from date deed is sent for recording.
